Preparing for the Q
For several years, Chris worked in local BBQ
restaurants, serving as an apprentice to BBQ
artisans. In his spare time, he experimented on
family and friends with meats and sauces, combining
the best of each of his BBQ memories. Chris
remembers, "From the beginning we wanted to stay
true to what we consider to be the real-deal BBQ.
Each area of the country has its own style and we
wanted different styles of Q to remind people of
their hometown BBQ joints."
Time to Share the Magic
With their recipes perfected, Nick and Chris were
ready to share the magic. Nick stopped racing and
Chris quit his job...together they converted a
garage on the corner of Monaco & Leetsdale into the
first Brothers BBQ restaurant. Their hard work and
commitment to providing every guest with the best
food and best service quickly earned them the title,
"Denver's Best BBQ".
Hearing a customer say, "This wasn't good, it was
great...definitely not what I expected!" still makes
Nick smile. Brothers BBQ has been recognized by
Westword, 5280 Magazine, The Denver Post, Rocky
Mountain News, and several other local media as
having "the best Q in Denver AND the state of
Colorado...". They are also the current reigning
champion of Denver's "Blues 'n Bones" BBQ contest
having won three years in a row.
Brothers
BBQ Today
Ten years later, Brothers has grown from one
restaurant with zero employees to eight restaurants
with over 100 employees.
Chris remembers their original goal: "To change the
face of BBQ." Just ten years later, they appear to
have done that and more! The awards and accolades
keep coming in and Brothers BBQ continues to serve
the Best BBQ in Denver!
